There was a buzz in the air at Breakfast this week.  Something about the AGM, someone was heard to have said.  That's right, it was to be our Annual General Meeting, with the election of Officers for Bernie's year as President.

Speaking of Bernie, she's everywhere, this time, at the front desk, taking our money as we arrive.

In our midst, we had our special guest, and prospective new member, Rachael Witton.  Rachael is well known to many of us, in her former role with SunnyKids, being the recipient of our Golf Day fundraising.  Welcome Rachael.  We hope to see a lot more of you and look forward to the opportunity of using your skills to the betterment of our Club.

Visiting Rotarian, Trevor from the Albany Creek Club was also present.  Thank you Trevor for coming along again and choosing our club to do a makeup.
Our very respected elder statesman and man with the photographic memory (even though he can't see), was at it again with the International Toast. This time Alan took us to the Rotary Club of Belfast, Ireland.  Please see the link here to the club's Website, and thank you Alan for displaying your amazing memory.
Iain Nye has had a varied work life - Iain is one of our longstanding members and spun a very interesting tale about family, work and boats.  Again this regular segment of our meeting showed its benefit.  Thank you Iain.

Our Sergeant at Arms, Deb, tinkled the bell and the AGM was underway.

First on the Agenda was adopting the Financials and the reappointment of the Auditor.  This all happened without much fuss.

Then, it was into the interesting stuff.  Who would lead our Club in 2018-19, under the auspices of President Bernie.

I must say, it is both refreshing and satisfying to have members nominate themselves or others, providing the club with a Board of Directors and Officers ready and in place for the next Rotary Year.

This is a true indication of the current strength and unity our club is experiencing.  As you can see by this list of the new Board and Officers, we have a mixture of male and female, members with a lot of experience and others 'testing the water' for the first time.  A great mix.

I'm certain, with these members leading our team and club next year, our club will continue to grow in both numbers and strength.

Congratulations to all elected Directors and Office Bearers.  (see the list here or later in this bulletin) I know you will do a good job and remember, we are all here to help.  If you're not sure about something, don't keep it to yourself.  Ask someone who knows.  We are all friends joined with the common bond of Service to our community.
