President Peter's Musings
What a beautiful venue we visited this morning.  Upon entering the building, we were greeted with the wide open atrium, overlooking water features and lush green grass.

Members were given the choice of Continental or Hot Plated Breakfast.  I, of course, had the latter, but I had a quick look at the Continental version and was very impressed.
The meeting was held in the Curlew Room of the Hotel.  Our thanks to Bernie for organising and Heidi for suggesting our Vocational Visit.

Alan Still OAM surprised us all this morning by steering away from disaster prone areas with the International Toast being made to three of our sister clubs within our 9600 District.  These being Rabaul in PNG, and Gizo and Honiara in the Solomons.  Thanks again Alan for your wonderful memory and ability to incorporate humour.

PP Anna spoke about the weekend in Toogoolawah.  It was nice to see so many of our Club, including Norm, present at the "Unveiling of the Stag", called Norman.  Our Facebook Page is being used really well to keep other members in touch with Club happenings.  For pictures of the event, go to our Facebook Page.

Next Tuesday's Meeting
Teena Chumbley and her family lived in Tanzania for the past 13 years where they ran their safari business, The Infinite Horizon.

Gemma Sisia started The School of St Jude about the same time, so Teena knows very well the amazing work that Gemma and her team do.

Teena and her family moved to the sunny coast last year and, now well settled, turned our attention to an opportunity to help the school.

She is our Guest Speaker next Tuesday morning.

2017 Walk for Mental Health

The second annual walk for Mental Health.  Invite all your friends to participate.  Join in the fun.  Purchase and wear a supporter Tee Shirt ( for sale on the day ).

The walk will commence at 8.00 am from the park area behind the Mooloolaba Surf Club, you can either walk to Alex Headland Surf Club and back – 4 kilometres, or to Maroochydore Surf Club and back – 8 kilometres.

As it is a cluster event we could get a group together to participate (a good chance to invite friends along), and you will have the chance to meet Rotarians from all our cluster clubs.

A sausage sizzle will operate from 7.00 am.  The cost is $25 which includes a T-shirt and a cap.  You can register online or on the day.

Hosted by facebook.com/rotarywalkformentalhealth, & the Rotary Clubs of Mooloolabah & Kawana Waters
