The Reel

Rotary is closely monitoring the pandemic of COVID-19 and continuously assessing the potential impact on Rotary operations, events, and members.

Our weekly meetings have therefore been cancelled until at least the end of April as your health and safety are always our top priorities.

Our next meeting at Oaks Oasis Resort is, at this stage tentatively, scheduled for Tuesday 5 May.

In the meantime:

Call Acting President, Bernie Strong or Secretary Sue Robinson if you have any queries, or wish to meet for a coffee and a chat.
Send Sue Robinson a text, phone call or an email to advise how you are.

Stay well!

Contribute to your club's newsletter
With our club no longer meeting as normal there are other ways to stay in regular contact.

Ring Sue or Bernie as we are urged, hold an online meeting as Rachael suggests ...

What about a contribution to your newsletter to let everyone stay in touch.  Some suggestions for each of us to consider:
  • Coffee with a Rotarian” a member or two each week provides a profile of some sort such as a personal update, a vocational perspective etc … the options are endless
  • 'Highlight of your week' is where Rotarians share those special moments of their week together with a picture or video if possible
  • Members share a short story or anecdote about anything special, or any interesting events that they have witnessed or participated in - and if appropriate attach a picture or two
  • 'Through the Rotary Lens' - members send in a photo of something interesting to all and get creative describing what the picture is all about
  • Share some Rotary knowledge
  • Perhaps even a joke or two for a humour section
Oh, and there are plenty of Rotary clubs meeting online so Google them and attend a Rotary meeting virtually!  Try this one

Over to you!

RI President's April message
I spend a lot of time thinking of family, not just my own or the extended family of Rotary, but also the families we are helping in the communities we serve. In many parts of the world, mothers and children face challenges to survive that most of us will never comprehend ...

Perhaps the most fulfilling of all human endeavours is to give back, and Rotary offers countless opportunities to do it, such as donating to The Rotary Foundation. Each Rotarian and club can choose the level of Foundation giving that is right for them. ...
