President Jim welcomed to Genta's guest Chisa,  his new neighbour Trevor, and Keanon
Chisa walked away with a bottle of wine when she won the two up at the end of the meeting

See Dave's photos here

Jim's International Toast was to the Rotary Clubs of Vanuatu. They have just experienced two cyclones and two earthquakes.

Jim welcomed Ann back from Melbourne.

We had three tables at the ROMAC Trivia Night – we didn’t get the trophy, but we didn’t get the wooden spoon either.

Thank you Genta for your communication with our sister club, the Rotary Club of Komaki in D2760 in Japan, with their letter translated by Genta -
The incident wasn’t common knowledge in Japan
and they appreciated an understanding of the history
They have donated A$500
Happy to be our Sister Club
Signed, The President.

Good news. The letter drop to banks has resulted in Suncorp donating $500. We are awaiting Bendigo.

Grant application to Council by the 13th in the Events category up to $7500 they will fund it all; for up to $15,000 we would need to match dollar for dollar, and for up to $30,000 we would have to contribute 75%.
Support letters-  Stuart, Andrew Wallace, Jason Hunt.

Expressions of interest for a stronger communities grant through Andrew Wallace up to $35,000. We would need $30,000 minimum to fund the event and additional work to the memorial.

Deborah’s cousins husband is a concrete concretor/bricklayer and could help us construct the two wings on which to mount the names of those lost.

Jim “needs some plans” - Roger gratefully accepted the invitation

Stewart talked to Terry Landsberg - apparently to the land was gifted to Rotary. I’ve checked it out on councils MyMaps but nothing there.

School children to place the crosses.

Deborah - logistics – chairs, marquees, power (Mother’s Day too) and Council works scheduled in the area.

PETS this weekend at Toowoomba, Jim and Judy Handscomb – President of the Rotary Club of Glass House Mountains.

Preferred donations for the club – Mark enquired about gaps.
Shelter box, ROMAC, Inner Wheel, STEMM,
Deb – A Shelter Box erected at the Bendigo Bank would be handy given the wait times and long queues there
Roger the WindanSea Community Clubhouse is struggling for funds to finish - Head by Don Smith - ex Caloundra City Council Deputy Mayor and former Caloundra Rotary member
Stuart maybe we need an EIO process.
Jim, we need money for the Centaur event/Memorial. That is a priority.

13th of March Board Meeting
14th of March Probus
20th of March Debbie/Bob RSL
23rd of March Rotary District Conference in Brisbane – Great speakers

The secret word for the next meeting is "Cryptic"

Thanks to Stuart for his media release regarding the Duck Holes Creek. - My Weekly Preview – thanks to Deborah too.

David asked how many people actually read all the Reel (note the spelling Jim)– and of course everyone put their hand up. Sorry guys and there is actually a statistics page on Clubrunner - big brother is watching.

He suggested a ClubRunner presentation.
Jim had a quote from an American President. It’s what do you learn after you “knew at all“ that counts

Deborah Saturday 7:30 - after lunch at the Pony Club event – volunteers please - “platter“ for judges from Cosco.

Sergeant Richard

He was at the Avante gym the other day and the guy next to him had a heart attack. No truth to the rumour it was Richard’s bad joke that did it

Ian copped it for blowing his toaster up

And of course Chisa won the two up.
