Club Visit to South Bribie Island.
Organised by our In-House Travel Consultant, this overseas escape to a local, eroding paradise point was by the pontoon party bateau under command of Captain Richard “Pugwash” ably assisted by First and Second Mates Darryl and Wasrren. Despite these potential impediments, the voyage was trouble free.
Weather conditions: clear skies to very light overcast; winds Force 1 from the southeast.

Local hazards: copious driftwood that had been thoughtfully collected into a large temptingly flammable array (see photos); white sand with a high snow blindness factor; UV Factor High; inviting clear oceanic water at about 23°C; scattered bivalve mollusc shells - the list goes on.

Victualled by Quartermaster Judy, dehydration measures included some sort of "Champagne" with options of exotic tropical fruit juice (i.e. orange juice), coffee (non-barista) and tea. Tropical fruit plate most welcome as was bespoke hand-made hamburgers and Gluten-Free toasted sandwiches. Round of thanks to the providore.

Our Great Swiss-French Helmsman (aka President Jim) addressed the 20 member multitude confirming that this was the premium way to start any day.

The majority of the party then had to head back to the mainland by 8:00am. Those left Marooned (it is QLD afterall) were retrieved a bit later by foresaid Captain and First Mate. Apprentice Helmsman Keith did a masterful job of steering us safely back without touching bottom.

The Official Photographer did a great job recording the event (thanks Dave) including a local Osprey while late arriving vagrant beachcombers in yellow Night Eyes T-Shirts captured our litter plus took evidential photographs of the gathering.
