James proposed the International Toast to the Rotary Club of Cork in Ireland, ancestral home of the Condons.  They migrated in 1865 due to the potato famine. The Rotary Club of Cork has a water project in Cambodia, and of Rotary Tree of Remembrance which has raised €1 million

Not to be outdone, President Jim proposed another International Toast, to the Rotary Club off Ganggu, Bali

The history of Rotary International in Indonesia dates back to 1927, however Rotary activities stopped because of the second world war in 1942, and again for the second time on 23rd February 1961, when Rotary activities were prohibited by President Sukarno's Government. Since 1966 Rotary in Indonesia was again approved by the Suharto and became the current Districts D3410 & D3420.
 
President’s Report

Chris introduced Issy, Emily, Chloe and Jane. He gave special thanks to Jane for bringing her daughters.
Issy is a higher achieving multi talented student, finishing year 11 at Immanuel Lutheran College.
He had a long list to report on, including music, sewing, piano, biotechnology, IVF, with the latter interests triggered by Emily‘s diabetes.

Emily was diagnosed with type one diabetes as a seven-year-old. She is now 12.
Emily explained that diabetes is an auto immune reaction, whereby beta cells were attacked in the pancreas. Canadian research showed the condition could be managed by insulin. It was previously a death sentence.
