but first a talk from Chris on the Rhine main Danube Canal.
 
In 380 A.D., Roman roads are in decline – rivers are roads. A canal across Europe was a dream from the 19th century.
There is a 170 km credibility gap between the Danube and the ride.
It has a long history from 793 to 1921. Bombed during the war, and in 1992, rebuilt, one can now travel by river and canal for 3500 km from the North Sea to Black Sea
