100 trees at Rotary Park, dark holes Creek, with the smoking ceremony by Auntie Bridget Chilli being a highlight of the morning.
The woodworking club is fabricating the 268 crosses for the 80th anniversary of the sinking of the Centaur. Thanks Bunnings for the timber.

Suzanne, President for Inner Wheel of the Sunshine Coast 2022 & 2023, was introduced by Chris
 
Bio:
Grew up overseas with a father that worked for Kiwi Shoe Polish, swimming became a passion which allowed me to swim for Kenya against Sudan & Zambia.
Schooling finished in Melb then entered Nursing. Furthered with Midwifery, Radiation & Oncolgy, Aged Care, Nursing Unit Manager for a Day Surgery finishing with Anaesthetics in a local Day Surgery. Have always been community minded, positions in schools, Neighbourhood Watch, Guides & Brownies then joined Inner Wheel in 2015 then Rotary in 2019.
Is now President for Inner Wheel of the Sunshine Coast 2022 & 2023 as well going onto the District Committee.
Married for 42 yrs to Greg.
3 Children - son Ben, daughter Kate, daughter Erin married with 3 children Leo, Peyton & Luca
 
lt has been a steep learning curve.
 
In the 1920‘s Margaret Golding was “not happy“
They had their first meeting in 1924, and now have 100,000 members
 
A key project in Australia is around blood/stem cells they give out $120,000 worth of bursaries each year.
 
Locally they are involved in:
  • STEPS
  • Currimundi, Special School Resource Centre – carers and family.
  • Birthing kids - they do 250 per month sent via RARE (Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment) to PNG and the Pacific Islands. In 21/22–3280 kits - has cost $2000 this year.

Jim - five years ago at the Solomons. They gave out boxes of birthing kits – tsunami damage. The hospital x-ray equipment was donated, but they had no electricity - and Darryl got a fish hook in his finger and needed special medical assistance.
 
Chris asked where the highest child mortality occurs
Africa, and there is little or no help with fistulas
