This Rotary year, District 9620 celebrates 100 years of serving its local and international community. The centenary provides an opportunity for Rotarians to reflect upon their achievements since 1923, when the Rotary Club of Brisbane was chartered

Rotary celebrated 100 years in Australia and New Zealand on April 21st, 2021, the 100th anniversary of the first Rotary meeting Down Under, when the Rotary Club of Melbourne met for the first time. 100 years of Rotary in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania was held in the 2020-2021 Rotary year.

And a little history around the location of our tree planting - The park was an early project of the Rotary Club of Caloundra

Historian, Dr Ray Kerkhove locates the historic (until the 1950s) Aboriginal camp on a reserve, and located roughly where the aerodrome runways cross

c1980 Topographic Map - you can see the Caloundra bypass under construction (intersects at the roundabout) and the old rubbish tip to the south of Rotary Park. The road to the dump now runs into Rotary Park
