Our 60+ members meet, socialise and undertake meaningful projects, at their own pace and in their own time with the advantage of guided supervision. A major objective of the Men’s Shed is to advance the health, wellbeing and social inclusion of all members through interest-based activities.

Mark Williams was raised on a 50,000-acre cattle station, educated by correspondence and School of the Air then off to boarding school at the age of 12. Mark spent a year in Germany on the Rotary Youth Exchange Programme then home to attend the University of Queensland. He studied a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Honours Computer Science

Other than a year as a research associate at the University of Stuttgart in Germany, Mark worked for the next 12 years at the University of Queensland with new technologies like the Internet. He completed the first connection to the global Internet in Queensland.

While working as an engineer he gained a BA (Hons) in Chinese. In 1998 he resigned from his role of Chief Engineer at the Computer Centre to start a new career based in Beijing for 17 years in Product Marketing for network equipment vendors.

The Shepherds Arms Children’s Home (SACH) aims to provide a safe and stable home-like environment for disadvantaged children that offers hope and healing to a damaged life.

SACH provides meals, accommodation and parenting for approximately 30 children who would otherwise be living rough.  Because there is no Government funding, SACH needs to rely on donations and utilise their own resources to raise revenue but also be self-sufficient for their own food supplies.

PLEASE REGISTER ASAP SO THAT I CAN GET NUMBERS TO THE RSL.

IT IS A FREE BREAKFAST HOWEVER WE WILL BE DONATING OUR USUAL BREAKFAST MONEY AND MAYBE A BIT MORE.'

"My name is Jimmy and I am a community physiotherapist working at Team Rehab Solutions. I have a special interest in neurological physiotherapy, and have completed several post-graduate courses to further my skills and knowledge in this area. My passion is working with people who have goals around movement and function, and helping them to unlock new skills and abilities to use everyday such as walking, reaching and grasping or simply getting out of bed. This may involve working with people who have had a stroke, brain injury or other condition such as Parkinsons disease or Multiple Sclerosis and many others. I have been working as a physiotherapist for nearly 7 years now, and every year it gets a bit more exciting! Outside of work I love to surf and hike, and I'm always on the lookout for another adventure, so if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears."
