For local artist Louise Gerzanics, creativity begins where others see waste. Combining sustainability, innovation and exceptional craftsmanship, Louise creates wearable art and contemporary abstract works that transform discarded and waste materials into intricate, couture art pieces.

Her practice explores the creative potential of everyday, often overlooked materials, revealing the beauty and possibilities hidden within objects destined for landfill. Working primarily with waste materials including papers, plastics, bike tyres, single-use plastics and food packaging, Louise reimagines the ordinary into artworks that challenge perceptions of both art and environmental responsibility.

Louise's work has been showcased as a Finalist at the Australian Wearable Art Festival, Paper on Skin International Paper Exhibition (Tasmania), A Wearable Canvas Exhibition (Frankston), the SWELL Small Scale Art Prize and the Du Rietz Art Awards. Her innovative artworks have been featured across print and digital media. She has also facilitated art workshops for Sunshine Coast Libraries.

Kendall Hatcher was elected Member for Caloundra in the Queensland Legislative Assembly, following the 2024 state election.

With a professional background spanning primary school teaching, management accounting, and small business ownership, Kendall brings real-world experience and a practical perspective to her role in Parliament.

She is passionate about education, local business, and delivering meaningful results for her community.

Kendall currently serves as the Senior Government Whip and is a member of the Governance, Energy and Finance Committee.

She is a strong advocate for congestion-busting infrastructure, active transport options, education investment, and is fiercely protective of the Pumicestone Passage.

A long-time local, Kendall is actively involved in the community through the Lions Club of Caloundra, Caloundra Business Alliance, and the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce.

She works closely with residents, community organisations, and sporting groups to ensure local voices are heard in government.

Kendall is committed to building a stronger future for Caloundra—supporting families, businesses, and community groups while delivering the infrastructure and services needed for a growing region.

It's a celebration!

The Club honoured Ben Bennett as part of it 50^th anniversary celebrations in conjunction with the 100^th Anniversary of the commencement of Rotary International on 23 February 2005.  Where better to do so than at the park named after him?  Ben had a strong interest in flora & fauna and lobbied hard for the establishment of Ben Bennett Park.

The club’s project – in conjunction with Caloundra City Council – provided a BBQ picnic shelter, paving, and a sign which pays tribute to Ben Bennett at the entrance to the park on Queen Street, Caloundra.

Rebecca Hurford is the Principal and Senior Financial Advisor at Infocus Caloundra – a local business, with a national footprint.  She delivers more than 32 years experience in financial planning, from a range of multi-national accounting, banking and advice organisations.  She began her career in 1992 with renowned Financial Planner, best-selling author and media commentator Noel Whittaker… before moving onto multi-national accounting firm Deloitte, where she was based in their Brisbane CBD office for 10 years.  After some years working in a specialist retirement advice business, she then joined ANZ, where her award-winning career spanned 12 years and saw her in the position of Senior Financial Adviser and Practice Manager on the Queensland State Leadership Team. During this time, she built strong relationships with her own clients, plus supervised a team of 14 Financial Advisers across one-third of Queensland. She personally received many accolades on a national level, including Retail Financial Planner of the Year.

Rebecca enjoys providing personalised financial advisory services to a range of clients – including wealth accumulators, business-owners, and retirees.  She specialises in the areas of tax-effective wealth creation, plus superannuation and retirement strategies – aiming to support her clients with a confident and comfortable financial future.
