Hi everyone,
 
Most of you know me,  through my work with Hive Haven (bees & honey), however I also work part-time for AgriFutures Australia in the capacity of the RWA State Chair. My role is to promote the Rural Women’s Award and build the Alumni network.
 
Applications for the 2023 Qld Rural Women’s Award close in 9 days -  Rural Women’s Award.
 
This year the University of Queensland have come on board to provide 2K in prize money to each Qld Finalist, and the winner will receive 15K from Westpac to assist with a community or commercial project. 
 
Applicants don’t need to reside in rural or remote Qld, however their project needs to benefit these regions in some way, and applicants don’t need to be a farmer.  Previous winners have come from nursing, academic, community, farming and education. The criteria -   
 
  • Applicants must have an existing project which is live and up and running, or will be live within three months of the application being submitted
  • The existing project, business or program falls into one or more of these categories: Community, Collaboration, Commercial.
  • Applicants need to be over 18 years old and identify as female
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents
  • Location is no barrier. If you want to create impact, innovate and make a difference and/or contribute to enhancing the prosperity of rural and regional Australia, then we want to hear from you
  • No formal qualifications are required
  • If you know someone who should apply for the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award, please email their name, contact details, and project area to rwa@agrifutures.com.au.
