Jan came up with the description Gem of the Sunshine Coast
Jan moved to Caloundra in 1952 with her two month old son. The were founding members of the Caloundra Power Boat Club and when the old lighthouse was moved in 1970 she did the Council approval drawings. She did drafting work for spec builders and went on to develop her own properties - In the YouTube clip by Roger, Jan comments on the photos at the lighthouse including about the Rotary members lined up in front of the Centaur Memorial in 1967
