You’re getting this email because your club has either participated in a Global Grant with the Rotary Club of Pursat, Cambodia and Sustainable Cambodia (SC), or you have inquired about Sustainable Cambodia and our activities in Cambodia for the past 21 years. We are asking, below, for you to let us know if you think your club might wish to participate in this Global Grant.
My name is Paul Stringham. I am a Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a board member of SC. Every Global Grant must have one designated International Lead club, and our SL club has committed to serve in that role for this next global grant, alongside the host club, Rotary Club of Pursat, Cambodia.
This global grant project is named "Village Sustainability with Empowerment and WASH."
Our Village Sustainability with Empowerment and WASH project will have an enormous impact on the villagers. Our goals to accomplish are to empower vulnerable and low-income families in Pursat, Cambodia Province. The Rotary Club of Pursat and Sustainable Cambodia (SC) have accurately assessed the needs with provincial local village leaders. We will work together with villagers teaching and learning from one another to improve their health, economic resilience, and access to essential resources. This project will provide village communities with access to clean water, improved hygiene and sanitation, enhanced food security, and sustainable agricultural practices while fostering community-led empowerment programs. Rotary and SC have a proven, measurable track record of initiating and successfully completing this kind of project, impacting thousands of lives.
This Global Grant will be filed for the next Rotary year, 2025-2026, and will be a two year project. If you would like to participate in this project your club will not have to send money until after the grant is approved, probably near the end of 2025.
Please note... The Rotary Foundation (TRF) no longer matches club or individual cash contributions. Instead, it matches 80% of District Designated Funds (DDF) applied to global grants. To maximize the impact of our collective contributions, we should focus on increasing the amount of DDF our districts allocate.
